As you enter the house through the vestibule you are transported back to the days after the Wall Street Crash, when Art Deco simply meant luxury, glamour, exuberance and faith in social and technological progress. The magnificent stairway (where you must take the group photo when you are all dressed up one day) leads up to the Landing.
